Futuro y condicional compuesto
Formation
The formula
Futuro compuesto is haber in the future + participle: habré terminado. Condicional compuesto is haber in the conditional + participle: habría terminado.
The irregular participles are the same as in the perfect: puesto, hecho, dicho, visto, vuelto, escrito, roto, abierto, muerto.

What they mean
Futuro compuesto
habré salido
1) a guess about the recent past: “must have…”; 2) an action that will be complete by a future point; 3) a concession about the past: “may have…, but”.
Condicional compuesto
habría salido
1) the unreal past, reproach, regret: “would have done”; 2) a guess about an earlier past (instead of the pluscuamperfecto); 3) the future perfect in reported speech.

- ¿Habrás acabado el informe para el lunes?Will you have finished the report by Monday?
- Yo no habría dicho eso.I wouldn’t have said that.
Guessing
One step forward
Instead of “probably” + a tense, Spanish often simply uses the tense one step “further”. Present → futuro simple, perfecto → futuro compuesto, indefinido and imperfecto → condicional simple, pluscuamperfecto → condicional compuesto.
You don’t need probablemente: the form itself already means “probably”. ¿Dónde está Ana? — Estará en casa.

In questions
In a question the same form means “I wonder…”: ¿Qué hora será? — “I wonder what time it is”; ¿Dónde habré puesto las gafas? — “where on earth have I put my glasses?”.

- Juan no contesta; se habrá dormido.Juan isn’t answering; he must have fallen asleep.
- Cuando llegué, serían las tres.When I arrived, it must have been about three.
- La puerta estaba abierta: alguien la habría dejado así.The door was open: someone must have left it like that.

What could have happened but didn’t: Yo en tu lugar habría dicho que no.
With a condition
si + hubiera + participio
A full unreal conditional: the condition takes the pluperfect subjunctive, the result the condicional compuesto.
Reproach
podrías haber + participio
“You could have…”: Podrías haberme ayudado = Me habrías podido ayudar.
Regret
me habría gustado + infinitivo
“I would have liked to (but didn’t)”: Me habría gustado conocerla. Likewise habría preferido, habría sido mejor.

Watch out
After si never use the conditional: not *si habría sabido but si hubiera sabido. In the main clause, however, hubiera can replace habría — this is common in speech.

- Si me lo hubieras dicho, te habría ayudado.If you had told me, I would have helped you.
- Podrías haberme avisado de que no venías.You could have told me you weren’t coming.
- Me habría gustado despedirme de ella.I would have liked to say goodbye to her.

Concession

“That may be so, but…”: Será muy listo, pero no sabe escuchar. About the past use the conditional: Tendría razón, pero no supo explicarlo.
